A man is defined not
only by his own actions and characteristics, but also by
the company he keeps.
We
are looking for intelligent, responsible, mature,
goal-oriented, and well-rounded individuals to
experience and strengthen our brotherhood at Auburn
University.
The Quest to be a Theta Xi begins on the day of your
Association with our Chapter and is a journey you will
continually experience, well beyond your initiation into
the brotherhood, and long after your years in college.
As Theta Xis, we do not say, “I was a Theta Xi in
college.” Instead, an alumnus member will say, “I am
a Theta Xi.”
In
our quest to find new members to share in our
brotherhood, we seek individuals who meet the following
Standards for Membership.
Additionally, a potential member who meets these
standards must also be aligned with Theta Xi’s Ideals
and Values. If you feel that you meet these standards
and empathize with the Fraternity’s values, please
contact us through
email,
phone, or by filling
out our
Associate Member
Application.
What is a Theta Xi
Member?
Beyond the minimum standards, what exactly does it mean
to be a Theta Xi Brother? What are the characteristics
of the Auburn chapter, or more precisely, the Beta Zeta
Chapter of Theta Xi Fraternity? The following are the
values of Theta Xi, and these qualities are what we look
for in each potential member:
Builder
– Do you seek an active role in the activities you
choose to be a part of? Do you seek to follow in the
footsteps of others, or do you wish to choose your own
path? Theta Xi members have the opportunity to mold
themselves and the Fraternity in direction that they
would like to go. We seek to break the typical Greek
stereotypes you see in movies and be a group of
respected and influential individuals. New members are
encouraged to quickly take on leadership roles,
including committee chairs and officer positions.
Goal-Oriented
– Do you set goals for yourself, and do you complete
those goals, or simply give up when faced with minimal
resistance? Theta Xi members must not only have a vision
of where they want themselves and the organization to be
in the future. We do our best to overcome challenges and
make sure these goals are met.
Socially Adept
– Are you personable and easy to talk to? Theta Xi
members portray the qualities of a gentleman in today’s
society. Our members are able to communicate effectively
with brothers, friends, colleagues, and new
acquaintances.
Academically Successful
– Do you fulfill your scholastic obligations? Theta Xi
members must be a role model for other students and
potential members. We expect our members to have an
academic astuteness and to help fellow brothers in their
undergraduate scholastic endeavors.
Athletic
– Do you seek to better your physical health? Theta Xi
is not a social-athletic club, but every man appreciates
physical fitness and good competition that regular
athletic participation commands.
Responsible
– Do you meet your obligations when it comes to time and
finances? Theta Xi members must meet these obligations.
We examine and plan out how best to use our resources
because poor planning inevitably leads to poor results.
Involved
– Do you seek to participate in activities outside
regular scholastic studies? Theta Xi members network in
their campus and community. We seek to take part in all
sorts of activities which help to better our
brotherhood, as well as individual members.
Passionate
– Do you seek to share the ideals you believe in with
others? Theta Xi members seek to share the rewarding
experiences of the brotherhood with their friends. We
constantly strive to offer new members who align
themselves with our ideals to undergo the same memorable
experiences we have. Your association, initiation, and a
lifetime of activities will become many of the high
points of your life as a brother.
If
you feel that these ideals represent your beliefs, we
invite you to become a Theta Xi. Please review our
Standards for Membership and fill out a
Membership Application.
